MG and I are leaving for NYC tomorrow to see From the House of the Dead, The Damnation of Faust, Fela!, eat a lot of good food and have a good time. I'm not planning on writing about any of this until I return, and by then we'll have also seen Otello at SFO and the Kiss: Alive 35 show in Oakland. There'll be a lot to catch up on, and if Otello doesn't suck, I'll even have to sit down and eat some crow.Until then, the beasts will be prowling the jungle for the next ten days and you won't find them here.

Semyon Bychkov led the San Francisco Symphony through Rachmaninoff's The Bells and Symphony No. 2 last night at Davies.
