Kids: Emily
Emily is almost exactly five and a half years old! She is very smart. Being the oldest, she has also become a bit of a mother figure and definitely my big helper. She carries around Ephraim when he’s fussy and brings him to me. She entertains the little boys and tries to keep Will out of trouble! If you could hear her fuss over her baby brothers you’d think she IS a mom! Telling Will, “No, no, Will! No no!” or cooing over Ephraim, “Hi there cutie baby boy! You’re so sweet, yes you are!” She adores them! She thinks it is hilarious that when she grabs Will’s chin and plants a big kiss on his cheek he makes a big show of wiping it off again! Emily is the one tha
Kids: Claire
Claire is 3 years and 7 months old. She is my little girly girl. She likes to be prim and proper and wear dresses “like a princess.” Claire isn’t a very picky eater or a difficult child in general. She’s very sweet and easy-going though she is sensitive to anyone being slightly upset or displeased with her. Once she starts crying (sobbing) it is hard to consol her! And when she looks sad or starts to cry, you cannot help but feel completely heart-broken for her. This is why it is extremely difficult not to spoil her. Her big blue eyes can look so sad that I’m surprised that she doesn’t get away with more than she already does. Claire loves to sing and dance.
Kids: Will
Will is 1 year and 10 months old. He’ll be two on December 16th! Will is our little chunkster! He doesn’t look particularly fat or anything, but he feels like lead when you pick him up. He is definitely a very solid boy! He loves his food and can put up quite the loud protest if he is required to wait for anytime at all between when he is put into his booster chair for a meal and when he actually gets his food. Will has never been ahead of the curve as far as development goes. He leaves all that stuff to his sisters and prefers to be very laid back about doing anything new. He didn’t walk until, oh, 16 months? (Might have been 17.) And still has almost no interest i
Kids: Ephraim
Ephraim is nearly one year old! He will turn one a week from tomorrow. He hasn't grown much in a few months. He's been in 6-9 month clothing since about 4 or 5 months! He has maybe gotten a bit longer, but that's about it. He’s extremely strong and “scrappy” you might say. We’ve always been impressed at his strength. Developmentally, he is on target for his age, especially considering his prematurity at birth. Last week we started Ephraim on solids. For a week or two I began to feel like he needed a bit more than I could give him. He was fussier than normal- unbearably so, and seemed no longer contended most of the time. So I gave him some banana. I can't say th
“Don’t Believe in it!”
Emily and I were playing a computer game where you style hair and try to make it look like the given example. Well Emily was helping me try it because she has much more experience with this particular game and I kept getting it to look exactly right but it still said I had it incorrect! So it was a harder game than I expected… These were Emily’s consoling words: “If it looks right the computer must be broken. Don’t believe in it! Believe in God and Jesus!”
