Emerging From a Sleepless Fog
Hannah wasn't sleeping well Wednesday or Thursday night. She woke me up every 1 1/2hrs one night and every. single. hour the next. Oh and both nights? I couldn't get back to sleep after 5:45am! I had many things I wanted to post, but I just could NOT think straight on so little sleep.THANKFULLY, she slept a little better last night -- only waking me up three times. I was WIDE awake at 5:30am again, though. Probably because Jason and I (he was off) went to bed at 10:30pm. Early for us! Since I was up so early, when I should have slept a bit longer to catch up on sleep (!), I was tired again by 8am ... ... and I ended up crashing on the couch for a couple hours. Jason
Inflammatory Breast Cancer
Did you know that there's more than one kind of breast cancer? Yeah, me neither until about 5 minutes ago. Please, ladies, take a moment to watch this video. Please note, breasts with inflammatory breast cancer ARE shown ... so you use your own judgment on whether your children should be around or not.
Lesson Learned: Don't be Stupid With Scissors
I cut my thumb the other day.Cut it bad, at that.Being stupid with scissors -- though it was a good lesson for Gabriella (see, honey, THIS is why you're always very, very, very careful with scissors). It HURT. It swelled up. It bled. A LOT. Wanna see?? Suuuuure you do!Not the best pictures, but it was what I could do one-handed lol. The cut may not look bad (and it wasn't too terrible, I admit), but it HURT (it's deeper than it looks). It may not look toooooo swollen in the second picture, but that's not as big as it got. If I had turned my hand over to get a picture from the other side, you would have been able to see how swollen it got becaus
What a Day
I always have such a hard time decided how big of a turkey to get. They ALL look so big to me. But today, I ended up grabbing a 14lb bird. That'll leave us with PLENTY of leftover meat. I'm gonna make a soup with some of it and freeze most of it. I can't wait to use those bones for stock though!!!We're going to have a pretty traditional meal here. Keeping it simple and sticking to the favorites. I was going to try to do one new side-dish this year, but I didn't make out a list and actually decide what I wanted to do until about 10 minutes before I walked out the door. I tried to go for healthier versions of our favorites, though. Which means making it myself instead of going for
Mish-Mash Post
A bunch of things on my mind lately:~ The weather is crazy right now. It's down into the upper teens/low 20s at night (cold enough to have to run pipes to make sure they don't freeze)... warms up to the upper 50s during the day (warm enough to open windows) ... and back down again. I wouldn't mind the cold nights one bit ... if we had some SNOW to go with it!! ~ I am almost FINALLY done with my stash of disposable wipes and diapers!!! I can't WAIT to get back to our cloth diapers and wipes!~ I'm thinking about switching us over to Ambleside next year. I'm looking into it ... and so far we're REALLY liking what we've read about it.~ Jason and I
