Clues of the Creator - Why Moral Law points us to the Creator
The clue's we have looked at so far have shown us that the universe had a finite beginning and has finely tuned perimeters and values that allow it to support life. Now we are all aware that as human beings we seem to have access to basic moral insight known as the conscience. There is something within in us that seems to acknowledge that a certain action is either right or wrong. It's explained in the New Testament as being part of God's general revelation to all human beings thus making us all aware and accountable for our actions, we can choose to follow it or ignore and suppress it.Romans 2: 14, Even when Gentiles [Non-Jews], who do not have God's written l
Clues of the Creator - The Fine Tuning of the Universe (Anthropic Principle)
Now carrying off where we left off regarding the very beginning of the universe it seems obvious that we must address how we have come to live in a universe that appears finely tuned to support life. It has been well acknowledged in both physics and cosmology that the very existence of life depends on certain principles or constants and laws of nature being just right. If any of these principles or values were even minutely different it would make the possibility of life impossible. Dr Dennis Scania of Cambridge University puts it this way:If you change a little bit the laws of nature, or you change a little bit the constants of nature—like the charge on the electron—th
Clues of the Creator - The Origin of the Universe
I believe that it's at the very least reasonable to believe that God created the universe we now inhabit and I'd like to show a few reasons why I find this to be so.Big bang cosmology shows us that the universe had a point at which it began to exist, this can be deduced from the fact the universe is still expanding, meaning it was once much closer together. This point from which the universe began to exist is similar to that of an inflating balloon that just keeps expanding with no apparent limits, this can be observed from galaxies and clusters that can be seen to have an increasing velocity from a beginning vantage point, showing us that at one point everything was much
A Critique of The God Delusion - Faith and the Sanctity of Human Life - Part 4
Mr Dawkins carries on from where he left off last time, giving examples of a few of the quacks who claim to be 'Christians', its beginning to get boring now to be honest as I'm yet to find even one argument that even addresses what most Christians actually believe. Anyway despite this lets have a look at more claims made by Mr Dawkins. While talking more about Randall Terry, Dawkins moves onto the case of Paul Hill who was part of a group known as the Army of God (AOG) who was responsible for killing the abortion doctor Dr John Britton and his bodyguard James Barrett in 1994. Now its clearly obvious that this guy was a bit odd especially since he made him self quite clear before
Critique of the God Delusion on the Sanctity of Life - Part 3
So I hope so far you have been able to see that there some reasonable responses to Richard Dawkins on issues referring to the sanctity of human life. I'm going to be honest with you his arguments don't get much better but then he is a Zoologist, maybe Mr Dawkins should stick to animals over writing books against God perhaps? Is it fair to compare Christians to radical Islamasists? This is an example of one of Mr Dawkins favourite arguments, he takes the example of a select few oddballs such as Randall Terry, whom was the supposed founder of a group known as Operation Rescue and presents his views as the orthodox and accepted view when this is quite clearly
