Kids and the National Library of Peru
While many people discuss the future of libraries, the National Library of Peru has opened his space for kids from local schools to participate in workshops to create books. The students are making good use of recicled materials, glue, scissors, pasteboard and lots of creativity to produce their publications. Conference in Librarianship in Chile
I had the pleasure to attend the 29th Santiago International Book Fair recently where I participated in the 14th International Conference in Librarianship organized by the Chilean Library Association. The site for the event is the bucolic and historic Estacion Mapocho located in the heart of Santiago. Since Argentina was the guest of honor, the entrance was decorated with the statues of Evita, the writer Jorge Luis Borges, and the singer Carlos Gardel, and tango songs filled the place. The opening of the book fair had the presence of the President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet and the President of Argentina, Cristina Kirchner. The booths disp
