ClimateGate? Or how the GOP is attacking environmental policy
Wonderful news for those of us concerned with Global Climate Change and ecological state of our planet. President Barack Obama will travel to Copenhagen next month for a global climate conference. The official says the president will be in Copenhagen on Dec. 9 before heading to Oslo to accept the Nobel Peace Prize. Obama's attendance had been in question until now. At least 65 world leaders will attend and seek to lay out the framework for a new global warming treaty. Obama has said the goal at the Copenhagen meeting should be an agreement that has "immediate operational effect," not just a political declaration.

The Decade of Bush
This decade is coming to a close and the media will soon start churning out their retrospectives of it all. The "Two-thousands" is the decade that, in popular culture, started on January 1, 2000 and will end on December 31, 2009. The Two-thousands have been dominated by some incredible news, from the very beginning with fears of Y2K and Bush v. Gore to 9/11, Afghanistan and Iraq. The midway point gave us the Indian Ocean Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. The closing came with a world-wide financial collaspe as well as the first African American president. What a ride!
