Prolonging the Process
So we sent all of our paperwork in a week ago (complete with all the money we needed, thank you very much!). But...we got an e-mail from our family coordinator saying that some of our paperwork was done incorrectly. They are sending back a few documents which we will, in turn, mail out to various places to get things fixed. Those places will mail things back to us, and then we'll mail it all back to our family coordinator. In other words, the process has now been extended. Not sure how long it will all take, but please pray for the mail system to be abnormally FAST. =O)
The Dossier Is On It's Way!
Woo-hoo!For those of you not familiar with the term "dossier" (pronounced "daw-see-ey"), it's basically just a collection of documents on the same subject. We have been compiling our dossier for months...they call it the "paper pregnancy." Ha!Anywho, it's in the mail! Our agency should get it tomorrow!Technically, we're still $200 short. But we wrote the check anyway. Faith? Or stupidity? We say faith, obviously, or we wouldn't have done it! We have our reasons...and we truly believe God will provide. We'll let you know when and how He did it!
God's Faithfulness!
A couple of weeks ago, I posted that we had received our final document for our paperwork (the coveted I-171H form), and that we would be sending our completed dossier within a week, as long as God provided a mere $1,650 within 7 days.Well, we haven't sent the paperwork. I'll tell you why in a second. But did He provide? Oh yeah. In fact, He blew us away. Of course. If you ask me, $1,650 is a lot. Especially to come up with in 7 days, when we didn't have a penny to add to it. But not for God. He not only met our need, He surpassed it. By a lot. He decided to give us $4,200.Why do we ever worry about these things? I mean, really?
Coffee Fundraising!
Love coffee? Or do you know someone who does? We're SO excited to be able to announce a new fundraiser for our adoption. COFFEE!!! It's a really cool deal started up by a guy who has adopted in the past and understands firsthand the difficulties of raising money for an adoption. Here's how it works. We have a website to sell coffee from (link below). For every bag sold, $5 goes toward our adoption! It's that simple! There are 6 different beans to buy (including Rwandan...and I can tell you first hand that Rwandan coffee is AMAZING! I've also heard the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is amazing as well). We even get a percentage for any t-shirts, scoops, mugs
Final Paperwork!!!!
So we got our I-171H form in the mail today!!!!What the heck is that? It's our "notice of favorable determination" from the department of homeland security! In other words, it's our LAST piece of paperwork for our dossier! We just have to get all the paperwork "state certified" and then we'll be able to send all of our paperwork to AWAA (our adoption agency) for them to assemble and send to Rwanda!!!Oh, and we have to send $5,025 with it. We have $3,375 of that...which we're INCREDIBLY grateful for. So now we're trusting God to provide another $1,650 within one week. Prayers would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
