Woohoo! I'm really HERE!
Hey Everybody! I have finally got a chance to email all of you. I had a 12 hour flight from JFK to Jordan where I sat next to a Lebanese man who was going to visit his house that he hasn't been too for 3 years. His name was Riad. . . .he has been living in New Jersey since 1971 . . .he was very excited about all the peace corps trainees being on the plane and wanted to make sure I told the peace corps to send some of us to Lebanon. . . He sang to Feruz(a very popular Lebanese pop artist) with his head phones on for the remainder of the flight while singing

I'm in Jordan!
Hey All! I made it to Jordan jetlaged but safe and sound!! I tried to find a phone/ internet last night but most things were closed when we finally got to our hotel and the wireless didn't work in my room! But have no fear I am hear safe and sound with 41 other volunteers and we are getting ready for a big day of fun. I will email you a more detailed email tonight when I have time! Hey all! Today I went thru staging! Basically we filled out forms and talked generally about our service, what is expected of us . . . the story of how peace corps was founded, the peace corps family etc. I am super excited for the morning and had a great last dinner! I had pesto/pasta and gelatto! YUM!Thanks for all your encouraging messages and wishes! I will be leaving for Jordan tomorrow on an 11hour and 45 mins flight! Intense . . . .long flight but I have 40 volunteers to keep me company! I have been meeting all kinds of really great people and I can wait to learn more . . . .next stop JORDAN! I love you all! Hey All! I just wanted to send everybody a last post before I head off into the great blue yonder on my peace corps adventure! I have had so much fun in past couple weeks in caves, at camp, pumkin patching it up, having massages, eating glorious bacon, with even more glorious waffles, icecream and pancakes, bowling, eating boconne dulce, bike rides, creepy wigs, eating pitas and lunches, stamtisch's, coffees, and breakfests with all of you! I leave Portland tommorrow morning where I am headed to staging and then off to JORDAN! I am beyond excited and I have to share what happened tonight with my luggage.
