http://integrallife.com/node/54698" The term gnostic intermediaries was used by Carl Jung (1966) to refer to Richard Wilhelm, the translator of the I Ching. Jung suggested that Wilhelm embodied the wisdom of the I Ching so deeply that he was able to transmit not only its ideas, but also the deeper underlying spirit of Chinese culture. Jung does not seem to have developed the concept further. However, I define a gnostic intermediary as a person who is able to effectively translate and transmit wisdom from one culture or community to another.
