Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!As most people do on this day, I've taken time to stop and ponder about which things I am thankful. There's the obvious ones -- health, both mine and those of friends and family. Oh, and the fact that I have amazing family and friends in my life. Employment. Food on our table. A roof over our heads. For all of those things and more, I'm thankful. Ever since I started writing this blog, I've become more aware of Almost...But Not Quite moments around me, including songs with that theme.They're out there. And those of us living the ABNQ lifestyle could likely claim at least one of them as a theme song.The most notable one to me is "Lazy Eye," by one of my favorite modern alt rock bands, The Silversun Pickups. I am going to have to swear off of eating anything but carrot sticks and water until January, methinks.We wound up kicking off the holiday season tonight by going out to dinner with our dear friends, Jay and Jill. Dear Santa...
I think I might need a new water bottle for my workouts.I know. I know. I have a perfectly nice metal water bottle from Gaiam. It's pretty. Dark pink with a purple floral pattern. And it's in fine shape.I just don't think it's the right fit for me. The screw off top has caused me some problems lately. Namely, I can't get it back on right and then manage to knock it over during a workout, spilling it allover the studio floor at the Y. Yes... the shiny wood floor that we're forbidden to wear wet shoes or boots on...that floor.And when I knock it over, it makes the most dreadful sort of "clanking" noise.
