Abstracts in the Everyday {still life}
Feeling a bit overwhelmed today so I forced myself to take a time out and do something fun to get my creative juices flowing again. I decided to reproduce an exercise I did in photo school:  photograph an ordinary object in a unordinary way.  You walk into a room and pick up the first two ordinary objects you see.  I picked up a fork and a container of Kosher Salt. Both objects are rather ho-hum to look at.  The fork has very straight lines but when turned sideways curves appear.  Why not shoot a hard light from the side and see if I can get an interesting shadow?  This will also keep the majority of the fork in shadow so you won’t see the dings and scratches it
Little Otto is Still a Puppy {pet}
Had a nice change of pace this morning!  I photographed little Otto, an 11 month old pooch.  His Mom and I met at my most favorite park, Larz Anderson, in Brookline, MA. The sun was trying to peak out from behind the clouds, but it was good to me and stayed where it was giving me nice directional soft light.  We headed with Otto and his favorite ball to a shady side of the park with abundant leaves. Otto, being the puppy he is, LOVED playing in the leaves!  I gotta say, he tested my focusing skills!  I rarely use the setting, but keeping the focusing drive on Al Servo helped out a lot for this shoot.  With the lens constantly focusing and re-focusing as little Otto bu
A New Beginning {Barrett/Westcott teasers}
David and Janie are two of the sweetest and kindest people I know. When they decided to tie the knot, I thought it was a match made in Heaven! Their day started in historic Concord at a GORGEOUS Catholic Church and ended at the top of one of Cambridge’s most beautiful hotels, over looking the Charles River and Boston’s Skyline. Yeah . . . it rained downpoured.  Sure . . . it snowed, too.  But that just adds to the fond memories and memorable moments of such a beautiful day. Here are a few teasers:
Tessa & Celia {teasers}
Good Afternoon, Everyone! Well I’m finally digging myself from under a massive pile of images and to-do list items.  Last weekend was quite a success – working two weddings and collecting over 30 gigabytes of work!  (Teasers from both wedding will be coming soon after a final weekend of sorting and processing.) I came up for air today to photograph Little Miss Tessa’s 9th month sitting along with her big Sister’s Big 3! People often say to me, “It’s not sunny, so we can’t do pictures, right?”  to which I respond, “Why, no, silly! A cloudy day is one of the best times to get pictures done!”  A cloudy sky
Gilda Betancourt {talent}
Gilda is a local Boston area singer/artist.  I recently had the privilege to do some photos of her for a promotional opportunity. I approached this photoshoot with the idea of getting multiple styles and looks to help her promote herself over a wide range.  While only one outfit and look was needed, I couldn’t resist doing more!
