Jo Biden on Serbia
Watch this video of Jo Biden giving a speech in Albania earlier this year. It gets interesting after about 90 seconds. Honestly I fear for the world if this man's distorted views on foreign affairs have any impact on American policy. I mean, he was basically talking about collective responsibility and collective punishment. This is bad.Don't get me wrong, I am not defending Serbian action; they acted poorly, to be diplomatic. But everyone in the Balkans acted poorly, that is why things were so bloody. Blaming everything on the Serbs just creates more bottled up Serbian anger, and pushes Serbia closer to Russia. Brilliant.
What would you do?
If someone employed by a major national newspaper was being very aggressive, verging on threatening, towards you on Twitter? What would you do if this very same person thought they hiding behind a cloak of anonymity, whilst posting this stuff, but you, in actual fact, knew exactly who they were?Do I write to the paper in question? Or take great amusement in posting a blog like this? Tough one..

Israel is playing a dangerous game
As a naturally conservative (small c) person, I find my natural political instincts are to support the State of Israel. We can only respect what they have achieved, creating a prosperous, democratic state in an area with few natural resources, surrounded by hostile entities. But this support can only go so far. I find it painful when I see right-wing commentators equating sympathy with Palestinians as being 'anti-Israel' or even worse, 'anti-semetic'. I think all true 'friends' of a country need to
Gordon Brown likes chocolate biscuits. News?
I find a reasonable amount of political news from the BBC Politics RSS feed. Not saying it is my first stop for breaking stories, but it is good for stuff that wont always be topics of vigorous discussion on Twitter, or PBC.But today I despair at this very RSS feed, and whoever decides which stories get put on it. Without a word of a lie, on my laptop the 11th story down on the politics feed of Britain's foremost broadcaster is titled '
