Who Wrote That?
This year I have bitten the bullet and signed up for NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month if you haven't heard of it before. For the month of November, writers set themselves the task of writing a 50,000 word novel in 30 days.
NaNoWriMo doesn't expect the month will produce the greatest works of modern day, far from it. The pressure isn't to turn out a Booker Prize winning tome, but rather an injection of 'just do it'. Don't over think, don't over plan, just write.
The Joke Is On Us
I caught a few moments of The Wright Stuff this morning just as they began talking about Jimmy Carr and a story I wasn't aware of. In one of his stand up shows, Jimmy mad a gag about amputee soldiers. To paraphrase, the joke went along the lines of - one thing you can say about all the amputee soldiers is we're going to have a hell of a paralympic squad in 2010.

I Twitter Therefore I Am Sane
I have always been a twitterer. I have twittered all my life, before the days of the internet, when twittering 'oop north' just meant having a good, brisk rant. Now I have my brisk rants in 140 characters or less...and I love it.

That's A Weight Off My Arse
So, in March I trooped along to Slimming World. A friend had lost weight on it and raved about it, and I decided I was in the right frame of mind to lose the lard.
I made a conscious decision not to mention it to anyone. I didn't want the constant hassle of how are you doing? what have you lost? should you be eating that?
Well in the last 31 weeks I've lost 3st 1.5lbs and Mum doesn't mind me telling you she's lost 4st in the same time.
I'm now comfortable enough wit
Whirlwind
I am in the middle of a whirlwind. A whirlwind of creative ideas, work, family, friends, stories, and life.
It is disorganised, confusing, chaotic, a tad scary. It is wonderful.
I have opportunities in my path which make my stomach do somersaults with excitement and trepidation. I have challenges ahead which make my knees tremble and palms sweat.
I'm as frightened by the prospect of success as I am the prospect of failure.
Not enough data.
