Flying down!
|
This last month I have heard from friend birds being lost outside and flying high and not knowing how to come down. One bird died a weird death falling down from a tree and broke its neck. Another got found, but now has clipped wings. The last one. I had talked to a woman that wanted to get one of the baby galahs. I asked if she would keep it flighted? She said that it was unsafe to have a flighted bird although her caique is. But no worries :0) doesn't know HOW to fly. OK! I can't really say it's safer for some because some don't know how to fly. Never have used long leash.A friend that freeflies her grey and has another grey that she is working with, also had a cockatiel. She shares learning on harness. Climbing down trees and flying down. The cocktiel it never got mentioned if it had learned on a harness at any point? The coc |

One of the young galahs got sick
| It has been a trying couple of days with one of the young galahs :(. On Nov 3rd one of the boys was looking listless in the morning when I went to go feed. I watched after feeding and he through up water. Not once, but twice. Immediately we went to vet!We arrived at vet and he checked him out and we talked maybe why? I had given some sprouts that were new and different and wasn't sure of? He and the other boys also play on ground of flight alot! I never feed food out there and do take the wet vac out there to get up whatever does fall down. Not everyday though. Our conclusion after vet looked is he was probably ill from sprouts. Said he looked great after inspection and we went |
