Playing For Next Year
With just a weekend left in the regular season, the teams out of the running have started their planning for next season. Earlier in the week, the Cleveland Indians let manager Eric Wedge know his services would not be needed next season.  The Indians had high expectations going into the season, but they turned into sellers trading away high profile players Mark DeRosa, Cliff Lee, and Victor Martinez for younger players. Now, word out of San Diego is that the new ownership team is going in another direction and letting long time GM Kevin Towers go. Giants Thoughts 9/29
The New York Giants are fresh off a dominating performance in Tampa Bay, where they beat the lowly Buccaneers 24-0 to improve to 3-0 overall. Mike Lowell came into this season on the heels of a revolutionary labrum surgery, one so new that it is yet to be named (that Lowell, incidentally, hopes will be named after him). Alex Rodriguez and Chase Utley had similar surgeries, yet Lowell had the most complete, radical form. As a result, he's already had one DL stint this season due to the hip and received

From FOX 9 News: HOUSTON - Former Minnesota Twins infielder Chuck Knoblauch has been charged with assault for allegedly choking and hitting his wife. A judge set Knoblauch's bond at $10,000 after he appeared in court Tuesday. According to the criminal complaint, Knoblauch's common law wife told police he hit her in the face, then choked her at their Houston home on Friday. Knoblauch, 41, faces two to ten years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine, if convicted. Officers from the Memorial Village Police Department arrived on the scene and witnessed the wife had red
