2009 Gravel Grovel
As I mentioned in my last post, I attended the Gravel Grovel this weekend. I would like to thank Mike Sharp for thinking up this crazy event and for the Story Inn for allowing it to start and finish in their parking lot. Their bar had some great burgers and good selection of beers. I can say that I have never done anything like this race. It was a great mix of gravel road and some muddy dirt single/double track. There was a lot of different
Gravel Grovel
I made it back to French Lick last weekend for a good ride. It was the first time in 4 weeks that I rode my SS. I must have been getting soft riding that FS bike all those hours because the trail sure was rough when I started. I ended up riding fairly well and killing the down hills. That place is just so much fun. I sure hope when I wreck up there it is not too bad. I am sure it will happen some day with how fast I go and how much air I end up getting in places. I thought that would happen last weekend on one jump, but some how I pulled it out. This weekend is the typical stuff your face weekend. I have been doing well with my weight and loosing some pounds when I woul
Sheltowee Trace
Wow, I can’t believe how long it has been since I have posted. I had a great ride on the Sheltowee Trace near London, Ky. Work has been crazy so I will post some pictures just to pass the time. I hope to add some more text soon.
Daniel Ridge and Butter Gap
Sunday was another great day in the woods. It started out colder then the previous days, but we also started a little earlier. The plan was to do a short ride so we could hit the road early and still make it back home before 1 am. The ride started at the Fish Hatchery. We took off up the road and did Danial Ridge counter clockwise > road climb > Butter Gap > Fish Hatchery. The water fall on Daniel was looking good as usual. As we were looking at it a biker came up from behind us a
Pilot Rock
I had to recruit a little help and found out a little closer as to where we actually went. The Friday ride looked a little more like this world ford rd>SMR>Black>Turkey pen>SMR>Mullinx>Squirrel>SMR>world ford rd Saturday was going to be a little shorter ride, but not lacking on fun. We started out about the same time, but figured we would not need the lights. The day looked like this: up Pilot>Pilot cove connector>laurel mt>Pilot rock
