Hattiesburg MS is one of the Top 20 College Towns in the US, according to Forbes.com and as such, has shown an overall INCREASE on jobs through 2008 and 2009. This is good news for anyone looking for a job during a recession.
Jobs in the Hattiesburg market center around retail sales, healthcare, tourism, and restaurants/food service (including management positions). With the University of Southern Mississippi and a dozen other schools and many hospitals in the area, additional larger numbers of positions for Nurses, Doctors, Pharmacists, Computer Professionals, and Mental Health professionals are also near at hand.
