Several years ago after my mother died, I started a big project to get all the family photos digitized and online. Since then I’ve done the photos for our immediate family, but I still have more to do, especially on my wife’s side. Because I wanted these photos to be self contained and not require extra files for metadata such as tags, I devised a naming scheme that included the basic information about the photo.
