Shark Fin Soup and Dead Sharks
First of all, I have to say that today was a pretty good day. Craig Ferguson organized another photowalk, which I will cover once I’ve processed the rolls of Tri-X. As usual, I met a couple new people and caught up with a few familiar faces, had some good conversations, and got (I’m hoping) some decent photos. But there was one downer to the experience, and it wasn’t the 5 minutes of rain in the evening. Rain and Tri-X go well together.

Streets Saturday: Ocean Park
A couple weekend ago we made what has become a biannual trip to Ocean Park in Hualien, central Taiwan. It happens when you have kids.

Taiwan Best Trip Competetion
So, I really hadn’t paid a lot of attention to the Taiwan Best Trip Competition. I mean, I had gotten the tweets about it from various friends on the island, but didn’t put any effort in to finding out any more information about it.
I mean, 4 days? I know Taiwan is a small island but there’s no way you can cover it in 4 days…but if you base yourself in Taipei you can cover (in general swaths) the cultures of Taiwan in 4 days. And that’s exactly the idea that a contest entrant whose email was waiting for me in my inbox this morning had. Check out her video:
