Attention all teen artists!
For all of you who had artwork on display in our October Beyond Reality Art Show, two things: 1. In order to show off your artwork, I will be hanging the artwork from the show in the teen room as a permanent display until the end of January.  If any of you would NOT like your work in the Teen Room, please let me know by commenting here, emailing me at teenlibrarian (at) brooklinelibrary.org, or giving me a call here at 617-730-2370.  I will be hanging up this display in the Teen Room next week, likely on Thursday November 19th, so please let me know by then. 2. Anime/Manga club canceled for Tuesday, November 3rd
Due to illness, we have had to cancel this month’s Anime/Manga club meeting.  Robin will be in touch about future meetings, and sends her apologies.

Teen Art Show Deadline Extended to October 9th!
If you have any art to turn in for our October Art Show, with the theme Beyond Reality, you now have until October 9th (Friday) to turn it in.  Please do!  We’d love to have more work to show. 

Review: Solanin
An excellent manga. This would be great to give to a reader who’s skeptical of manga, as it would be more palatable to newbies. The coming of age aspect should appeal to anyone struggling to balance dreams and the more humdrum responsibilities of life, and the art and pacing are well matched.  This is great for anyone who really adored Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist or Fat Kid Rules the World. I loved the random antics of the guys as they hung out (whatever odd game they kept playing that involved perching on top of each other was hilarious every time you glimpsed it.) Touching, funny, contemplative, and endearing.
