YESSSSS and guitar things...
Yes@Colston Hall, Bristol.Had a great night out with Si, the Hodmeister and Lambski on Monday.... Colston Hall, Yes! One of the few bands on my "must-see" list and I wasn't disappointed. The line-up was Alan White, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Oliver Wakeman and Benoit David.Prompt start at 7:45 - the guys played for just about 2 1/4 hours. Can't remember the set orders but we were treated to:
Deep Purple - NEC - 13/11/09
Weather was crap heading up to Brum with Ron and his good lady Alison. Good company though, we get there in under an hour - top achievement considering the weather. Hadn't been to the NEC before (or LG Arena as it's called). Great venue. We got some pretty cool seats centre/back....think I may have preferred the pit, but the stage was in good view. Im guessing there were about 5000 fans last night - which I think is bloody amazing - not many bands of that era left that can command a crowd that size on a regular basis.Anyways.... the support band were a perfect mix for Purps - The Crave. So.....what's been going on? Loads of stuff. Busy and VERY tired.Work stuff.... well GCC work is going well - had a top review recently and have been getting on with loads of new projects so there's lots to look forward to there. Guitar lessons have also been major-ly busy. It's been a bit of an odd year as I haven't really taken the business any further forward. I've been busy but haven
Meaty, Beefy, Big and Beery.
No, it's not an autobiography, but a little post on my latest culinary exploits. I'm no cook, mind, I'm okay with "messy" meals but have never done pastry, cooked my own pasta, or done anything flash. I treat food like my guitars - it's all functional....HOWEVER! Really fancied having crack at a cowpie type thing so...here's my breakdown.1) Buy some red stuff (beef)2) Buy some brown stuff (beer)3) Chop up coloured stuff (the non-meat/beer stuff in the fridge). (mushrooms, herbs, garlic, carrots, onions, leeks - hell, whatever you've got).4) Butter in a pan, heat up.
Cough Splurgh Splutter...
Bloody cough still here after nearly 2 weeks. Dammit. Can't seem to shake the bugger although better last week than the week before where I was "out of it" and in bed for the best part of 3 days.My first guitar lessons in a while last night, really enjoyed em - nice to get back into the teaching game again. Work #1 going well too, had a rather top review mid-week and came out squeaky clean and smiley. Dead chuffed - but lots of work to do I think - not helped but this stupid cough. Only 3 days of Work #1 next week as kids are on half-term and I need to see to the bairns.Tom's so much better now after his flu b
