No Ethics in my Futomaki.
This futomaki was lunch just now. Not traditional, maybe not even ethical, but quick, nutritious and tasty--I just licked my plate. Oh, not to mention it was all gluten-free ta-boot. I've been dying to make sugar skulls for a couple of years now, but how to substitute that tricky meringue powder? I was all set to try this year using Angel Food's vegan meringue cookie mix, when my friend Katie came to my rescue. She's had luck subbing Ener-G Foods Egg Replacer, and told me to give it a go.

Have you ever loved a food so much you named your dog after it? Our fuzzy pooch pop is named for one of my most favorite things to eat, from my most favorite restaurant ever, which shut its doors forever in 2007.
