Happy Thanksgiving!
Good morning everyone! Happy Thanksgiving!
Over three hundred years ago, a group of pilgrims fled religious persecution and came to a strange, unknown land to escape to a place where they could live in their faith freely and openly. They encountered some hard times and had to overcome many obstacles, but they found a way to be thankful for the blessings they had found in this strange new world. In 1789, when our great nation was just beginning, President George Washington made November 26th the National Day of Thanksgiving. It was to be a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to acknowledge the blessings this country has received from Almighty God. And today, 220 years later
Obama forgets when the first Thanksgiving was
President Obama delivered his prepared remarks for Thanksgiving, remarks I actually would have loved. It was eloquent, it was thoughtful, and the message definitely could resonate with the American people right now. It would be perfect, were it not just for one mistake: he totally screwed up when the first Thanksgiving was, by, oh… about 74 years.
When my family and I sit around the table tomorrow, just like millions of other families across America, we’ll take time to give our thanks for many blessings. But we’ll also remember this is a time
Outrage: Navy SEALS face assault charges for punching a most wanted terrorist
If this doesn’t infuriate you, then I don’t know what will. These men are heroes, but in the newer, hopier, changier United States, heroes who capture a most-wanted terrorist responsible for the brutal murders of four Americans are charged with assault… for punching him in the lip.
Three Navy SEALS caught Ahmed Ashim Habed, the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Americans in Fallujah in 2004. Apparently, he got punched in the lip — and they’re now facing criminal charges.
Navy SEALs have secretly captured one o
Cosmo goes against the Stupak amendment too
Cosmopolitan has gotten in on the anti-Stupak movement. Without bothering to think for themselves at all, they’ve just taken the feminist route and decided that cutting abortion funding means that “women’s rights” are being threatened somehow. Check it out:
If you’re pro-choice, you may not be aware that an amendment to the health-care reform bill that passed in the House earlier this month threatens women’s rights. Called the Stupak-Pitts Amendment, it bans abortion coverage for millions of women who will purchase health insurance in the new health exchang
First a Nobel, and now a black belt
Obama already got a Nobel Peace Prize without doing anything at all. And now, he’s been awarded a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, without ever even having practiced the martial art.
Yes, really.
[O]ut of the Seoul sky, President Lee Myung-bak hands over to the American leader a tae kwon do outfit. And then Lee, who practices tae kwon do himself, presents Obama with a coveted black belt.
After zero long years of study.
He’s also sure to win an Academy Award for Best Leading Actor in the critically acclaimed film, “H
