Welcoming Dubost Ranch to CCWB!
I would like to point everyone to the brand new Dubost Ranch blog, a member of the Central Coast Wine Blogs family. The Dubost property is in the Adelaida Hills area of Paso Robles, and the ranch has been in the Dubost family for nearly 100 years. Previously supporting sheep, grains, nuts and pomegranates, the Dubost family is now focusing exclusively on their estate olive oils, vineyard, and wine production.
A New Way to Work
One of the business solutions that I am very excited about is Elance. At Elance, you can describe the project you need help with, and set a budget. Over 100,000 professionals are at your fingertips and they will bid competitively for your business. You can view each professional’s statistics—jobs completed, overall ratings, specific skill sets, and consumer comments. Far from being a wild hypothesis, the e-lance economy is, in many ways, already upon us . . . What is lagging behind is our imagination.
The Crush Cookbook: Submit Your Recipe!
This month I am looking for RECIPES from SMALL WINERIES! I have a NY literary agent and two California agents interested in my next cookbook project, The Crush Cookbook: Recipes from Small Family Wineries. Illustrations will be black-and-white action photos. It's going to be a rockin' project! I need 80 recipes, plus high quality photos of your winery or vineyard staff in action. So far, four professional photographers have expressed interest in working on the project, but if you already have some great shots you’d like to share you are welcome to submit them. I would love to have some of my winery friends from Oregon, Washington, California, Italy, and Spain represented, so if you a
Why you need social media ... "We(b)st Side Story"
This funny and irreverent video was brought to my attention by Mike Duffy at the Winery Web Site Report. As Mike points out, it really has nothing to do with wineries. But it has everything to do with the power of social media ... especially for the Millenial market. Plus, it's downright funny and well done.
CCWB Makes the News ... in Melbourne, Australia
My Inside a Wine Scam series was quoted this week in a Melbourne, Australia newspaper. The Age is a broadsheet daily newspaper with a circulation of over 658,000, published in Australia since 1854. Inside a Wine Scam is a five-part investigative series originally published on the Dover Canyon winery blog. Dover Canyon, a micro-winery (2500 cases) in Paso Robles, was one of the first 9 wineries in the United States to engage in blogging and social media, according to the Winery Web Site Report.
