Cherwell Conversations is named after the peaceful River Cherwell that slowly winds through Oxford, UK and the late night conversations that took place along the river between author C.S. Lewis and his writer friends, “The Inklings”. It was through these friendships and conversations that C.S. Lewis, an avowed atheist and lover of ancient mythology, began to put the pieces together about Jesus Christ – the perfect, true myth in which God, in love, sacrificed himself on behalf of all mankind. May this blog create a community in which friends can ”take a walk” on a warm fall evening along a slow-moving river and engage each other in thoughtful conversation about things that matter.
