Demolition, Revitalization, Turkeys and Thanks
It is a busy weekend here in Oakwood. Today along with 30 or so college students from Chi Alpha at UCA, we tore down a trailer, to begin building it up again. Constructed a shed, and beautified an area. What was awesome was having college believers and believers who live in Oakwood serving alongside each other. The holidays are upon us. Churches and non-profit ministries throughout the country are gearing up to feed people, clothe people and provide toys to kids. (Why we focus on this now and it falls to the wayside the other 10 months of the year is another post.) Story of Hope: Update
A few weeks ago, I spoke about Kourtney who had returned to Oakwood and was a rock bottom. Well here is an update on the young man. Right now he has a place to stay. Gary whom I have spoken about before, gave Kourtney a room to stay in his trailer until he could get his own place. He has fresh supplies, a bed to sleep in and his daughter is able to stay with her grandmother. Last week we took
