Giving Thanks
After kicking around various thoughts and being unable to come up with a coherent post without rambling on too much, I finally picked up the newspaper. What columnist Rod Watson said touches upon part of what I had been considering writing about:"On this day for expressing gratitude, we can be thankful for abundant evidence about which version most accurately depicts who we are. The most obvious evidence is the unprecedented support for the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” family and the entire neighborhood around the Powell home on the Lower West Side...But we all know there’s
Local Books at the BECHS
The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society is having a book fair of sorts this Saturday. Twenty authors will be on hand to sell and to sign their contributions to the local books library. They have also been known to listen patiently as customers recall their own memories.Of particular interest to me is the appearance of Mike Vogel, Ed Patton, and Paul Redding, authors of America's Crossroads. Prove It All Night - Tonight
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are way past having to prove anything to anybody, but I really like this song, almost as much as Born to Run:
A Positive Bills Experience
Somehow it just seems fitting to think about the Buffalo Bills after the recent posts here. While tomorrow's game may more resemble a demolition derby of sorts than an actual football game, with a bunch of those shiny new golf cart cars going against Peterbilts, you can always revisit past glories. Now is the time to visit the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Museum* and check out the Bills exhibit in the downstairs area. Revel in memories of days gone by when things weren't as bleak. Recall again times when things looked just as hopeless as now. It's all there, and more!
