I am a writer of creative non-fiction, primarily essays and 'service journalism'. I am, as well, a certified Spiritual Director in private practice with a focus on life transitions, grief and loss issues, conflict resolution and peacemaking. I'm an urban farmer-in-progress, a wife and "radical unschooling" mother of four nearly grown children. I was a Midwife in home birth practice for many years but have stopped attending births to focus on writing and community activism. I do most of my work from home and at a small office not far from home. I think, and write, on a wide range of topics from social and cultural issues, to the spirituality of human development, birth, death, parenting and politics, music and art. Please know that nothing I write is meant to be prescriptive ~ take what speaks to your own soul and leave the rest for the birds. With Voltaire, I suggest that we "cultivate our garden" and offer our own healing and creative work for the betterment of the world around us.
