| Description: | Communist Students is here to promote Marxism on our campuses, campaign for democracy in all spheres of life, and fight to replace capitalism with communism. Not the ‘communism’ of Stalin’s Soviet Union, but a democratic world society. CS members are involved in many campaigns including Hands Off the People of Iran and Stop the War Coalition. CS candidates have stood for full time NUS positions in Sheffield, and had two delegates at the last NUS conference. CS believes open debate and a democratic culture are needed if the left is to progress; members will not be silenced or expelled if they disagree with the majority line, and have the right to form factions. We engage rather than ignore other left groups, arguing for the unity of marxist students in an openly communist and democratic organisation. |
