When you were a child, what did you enjoy doing? For me, I loved to ride my bike. The summer when I was six, my dad bought me a little pink bike and walked beside me as I pedaled and tried to stay upright. I rode up and down the sidewalk on Washington Avenue in front of my house and then made it around the entire block. Last night, I was meeting with my writing group, and our conversation digressed from writing to life, as we sipped our second glass of wine. “I’d like to go to India for three weeks,” I said. “I’d like to do some kind of volunteer work and get to know the country and people.” Both of my writer friends agreed; they’d like to visit a developing country as well.
