Mavs blow one
The Golden State Warriors outscored the Mavericks 22-5 in the final five minutes Tuesday night to shock the Mavericks 111-103 at American Airlines Center.
Rookie Stephen Curry had two free throws and a 3-pointer with 2:21 left that put the Warriors ahead for good 103-100.
Monte Ellis then sliced through the Mavericks' defense as if it wasn't there to score on a layup and the Mavericks were cooked.

Mavericks asking for trouble
The Warriors have gotten back-to-back 3-pointers from Anthony Morrow and own a 65-60 lead with 7:30 left in the third.
No matter whether the Mavericks rally or not, they've already made life miserable for themselves tonight and, most likely, again tomorrow when they play for the second time in 24 hours, visiting Houston.
For Golden State, Vlad Radmanovic already has season highs in points (14) and rebounds (nine).
The Mavericks need to wake up and take this game seriously.

Dirk gets another honor
Dirk Nowitzki is getting plenty of accolades for his play these days. On Tuesday, he got honored off the court, too.
Ronnie Lott, NFL Hall of Famer and founder of All Stars Helping Kids, announced the 10-person "Dream Team For Public Service" from 53 nominees selected to recognize top athletes who have given back to their community.
Dirk joined Orlando center Dwight Howard, tennis star Venus Williams, NFL all-star Justin Tuck and others as honorees.
The 10 will be officially recognized in New York City at the third annual Sports Business and Philanthropy Luncheon on Dec. 8.

Nine are beating six -- barely
The Warriors have used only six players through the first 24 minutes, with Chris Hunter and Corey Maggette dressed but not seeing action in the first half.
Interesting that Maggette hasn't played. He's relatively healthy (a hamstring wasn't supposed to keep him out). But with Keith Smart filling in for Don Nelson, there's no way to know what Smart's strategy is.
Even so, the Warriors are hanging tough, down just 54-50 at the break.
The Mavericks aren't shooting well (41.5 percent) and are ahead only because of 19 free throws made in 21 tries.

Play of the night
It's going to be hard for anybody to top Kris "Krash'' Humphries' defensive gem midway through the second quarter.
Humphries pretty much got beat by Woodrow Wilson product Anthony Randolph on a drive into the paint. But Humphries recovered quickly and swatted Randolph's attempted layin/dunk into the first row of seats.
He got a standing ovation from a lot of folks in the lower bowl for his effort.
Meanwhile, the Mavericks are piddling around and trail 41-40 with five minutes left in the half.
