Freshman year has to be the best due to the newness of college. It's only been about a month and a half since school has started, and everyday I find something new I like about OU. Today was the Fred Jones Jr. Art Museum. As a presidential community scholar, I have to attend weekly Thursday meetings and participate in community activities. Though a requirement, I don't feel like any of it is a burden especially since I like to volunteer anyway, and PCS is actually enjoyable! Today, PCS was given a private tour of the museum and though I've been in it before, the musuem much more mystifying and breathetaking without crowds hovering over every picture. Another Weekend, but Something Different.
The good ol' weekend has finally come, but this weekend is special. My birthday is tomorrow! I will be turning 19-years-old. I feel young yet old. I guess that's normal. Compared to my mother, I still feel like a child. Compared to some of my cousin Carolina who has started her freshman year in high school, I feel old. Wasn't it just yesterday that I was a high school freshman spending my first day at lunch in the bathroom??? I can still remember how intimidating it was to walk into the noisy cafeteria and then find myself just walking right back out. I was certainly awkward. Now, I'm just awkwardly confident. The Day After Labor Day
The day after labor day has been the most tiresome day of my college career. I woke up to my alarm clock to only snooze five more times and sleep 30 minutes longer than usual. Then I was non-responsive in my Intro to Mass Comm class as the teacher droned on and on about "The Biases of the Ear and Eye." Than we talked about generational perceptions of paranoia and privacy.
