Superman’s Cape
As we draw closer to the end of the first decade of the new millenia, I begin to reflect on my life to this point. There are so many subjects worth discussing, yet I am focused on the diminishing memories of my father.
My parents were divorced by the time I turned nine. He held what was considered a good job for a black man in the 1970’s. He was a machinist supervisor for a large tool and die company that has long since been acquired and acquired again. I
Fatherhood Friday: Yo’ Mama Is So Ugly…
Sunday morning, I just finished getting dressed for church. I came downstairs, logged onto my computer to check out the latest news and most current tweets on Twitter. Yes. I still crave my wife heartily! Lol!

Or maybe you were around when I discovered my innate redneckery. This city boy from the tough streets of Hiram Clarke, high school in South Park, TX (an inner-city area of Houston
Falling Out of Orbit Trying Not To Make A Poopy

I have been away from these pages for a few weeks and have missed chatting with you. I’ve been away for a number of reasons. Work and school have been intense for the last several weeks. I have been struggling to keep my head above water, so I had to stop writing for pleasure for a minute.
Another reason is writers’ block. When I get hit with this, it tries to take me out. It is more prevalent when I have to write academically and professionally simultaneously. With the exception of a couple of pieces that I’ve written over at
