Open Letter to DHB's
In March of 2010 just days before Easter I received devastating news that I had Stage III invasive lobular carcinoma in my left breast. I was only 30 years old. My life would be changing forever. Following my cancer diagnosis I immediately started on a course of treatment that would take me ove

Cappuccino Cake
This is a perfect afternoon tea cake. The kids didn't like this one (more for the adults! Yay!) as they weren't keen on the coffee flavour. It goes really well with a nice cup of coffee for that double caffeine hit!. I also made this one with a bit of a kick in the icing. Ingredients: 225g self

Autumn Light
The light these last few evening has been beautiful. Perfect for photos. Since Owen's bought himself some new fishing rods we've been heading down to the bottom of the garden to fish off the old log that has probably been there for many years. Its a perfect spot to hang with a few beers in the late

2 years - I've made it!
Two years ago today, just before Easter I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a pretty hairy scary diagnosis too. My diagnosis was Grade 3, Stage 3 Her2+ breast cancer. If I got through the first two years without a reoccurence then I was beating some pretty high odds. Well... I'm still here.

Little & Friday
A couple of years ago I used to go walking with a friend around Belmont/Eversleigh Rd area when a little bakery popped up in an old butchers shop in an out of the way group of shops that housed a roast shop and a catering company. Called Little & Friday it was so little it was almost a hole in the w

Devils Food Cake
The last post I did with the Delissilinks had a cake that I was dying to try out - the one by Bake at 350 using the Martha Stewart recipe and the Bakerella style. Well I did it this weekend for Owen's birthday cake. The frosting was amazingly light and fluffy and the cake itself looked like one of t
