I’m Very Thankful
I had every intention of writing this yesterday when I was sitting in the quiet and able to truly reflect on what I’m thankful for.  However, I had to bake. And then kids came home from school. And then I had to bake some more. And well, I never quite got around to sitting down and reflecting on it. So today, I’m blogging (so as to blog every day this month and how thankful am I that I’m 26 days into this and I’m still doing it!) and I’m doing so on the commercial breaks of the Macy’s Day Parade (of which my grandma is older than!) First and foremost, I’m thankful for my salvation.  I am thankful for the God t
The Boy’s Affair With an Older Black Man…
Heh. I knew that would get your attention.  Or at least his. Yes, I’m getting more and more like the old Heather with each post.  Shock and awe.  Shock and awe. I crack myself up. But I didn’t just title this because I wanted to get your attention.  There is actually some truth to this. You see, the boy?  Not a big fan of books.  Me on the other hand?  Total book worm.  I’ve read three this week. But, the boy, typically does not like to read.  Neither do Matthew and Samara.  Which is funny because all we did with them when they were little was read.  We were always reading.  They both will read if someone reads to th
Stressing Over Christmas and I Know That I Shouldn’t Be…
This Christmas is going to be a tough one financially.  Situations that both the boy and I faced this year put us in a position where both of us, at times, were struggling to keep our heads above water.  And while we’re in a better situation now, we’re not out of the woods yet.  I’ve been putting money back for Christmas for what seems like months, now.  But every time I think we’re going to be okay based on the budget that we both set, something happens and we have to dip into that money. Now, don’t get me wrong.  The kids will have a Christmas.  The boy and I have decided not to exchange gifts unless there was money left over but I’m loo
90 Years Ago Today…
My Mamaw was born. I’m so glad that she was.  Without her birth, my father wouldn’t have arrived, nor would’ve I, and for that, I am grateful. I had a wonderful time seeing her this weekend.  I had a wonderful time laughing with her and hearing my father tell me that I got my stubborness from her. Happy Birthday, Mamaw. Even you are older than dirt, scotch tape, Mickey Mouse and the Macy’s Day Parade, I still love you! Until next time… Share and Enjoy:
My Memory Just Plain Sucks…
I need to start writing topics down when I have them.  I always think of something good to write about but by the time I actually get a chance to sit down at the computer and type it out, I’ve forgotten what I wanted to write about… The sad part about it? I have a notepad on both my iPod touch and my Blackberry… two things that I NEVER leave home without. ::sigh:: So let’s pull something from the journal from this summer… at least it’s something and counts as a blog post for today… November 22nd… AND… 22 days of blogging straight. So what if it’s been brainless, mindless and rambling.  The ru
