| I realized that even though we are all unpacked and moved in to our new apartment, our walls are somewhat bare. I came upon a closet of framed art; apparently I'm a little stumped about where to hang things. The inspiration available on the internet never ceases to amaze me. Sometime very soon I'll figure out what I want to do. |
reupholstery project, part 1
| My sweet friend, Amanda, gifted me her grandmother's antique chair. The chair is quite old and needed a pick-me-up, and I felt up to the challenge. So far, I've removed all the old fabric and guts. I was surprised by all the dirt and "bird's nest" padding inside. The next step will be to find new padding that will work with the springs. |
met opera: hd
| I'm getting very excited for the new season of Met Opera broadcasts. I must say that I'm very bummed to see some of the productions I'm most looking forward to are not on the HD list, but then again, I realize my tastes aren't very mainstream. This list includes Berg's Lulu, Schönberg's The Nose, and Strauss' Elektra. However, what you can are amazing productions of Tosca, Aida, Turandot, Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Der Rosenkavalier, Carmen, Simon Boccanegra, Hamlet, and Armida.
