Videographer Nightmares
I’ll be honest. Shooting… probably not my favorite thing to do… not with guns or with cameras. I’m not bad at shooting with a camera. It just makes me nervous. There are so many things to think about. Is the lighting correct? Is the person in focus? Is the microphone on? Did I hit record? Which brings me to a story and a lesson.
A couple of years ago, I was asked to help shoot a segment for Lowcountry Live. It was the Whole Foods Recipe Roadshow. To make a long story short, Ryan Nelson stands there with a guest that showcases their favorite recipe. It’s a 5 minute segment. Fast forward to Ryan Nelson wrapping every

How Running Food Prepared me for Running my Business
I never wanted to be a waitress. I was a hostess for a year before my manager asked me get out from behind the hostess stand and get out on the floor. All of my friends were waitresses, so I knew how stressful it could be. I was also aware of the money I was missing out on.

Vlog – a video form of blogging
The idea of vlogging can be intimidating. It can be time-consuming and frustrating if you are unfamiliar with the tricks of the trade. Here are some things to think about and ask yourself before you start vlogging.

Are you going to use a web cam or a handheld camcorder?
Can you easily transfer the video from the camera to your computer?
Will you need to edit the video?
Where will you upload to?

A year ago, I didn’t know the difference between a ride, crash, or a hi-hat. Today, I am happy to say that while I still can’t identify them without the tags on them, I can tell you that they exist. Baby steps.
Holiday shopping can be intimidating, especially when it comes to all the technology-based gadgets on store shelves. What’s cool today may uncool tomorrow. Holiday shopping can be intimidating when you aren’t knowledgeable about the subject matter.
The Girl Behind the Camera: About Me~Erica
As a little girl, my biggest dream was to be a singer…or an actress…or a veterinarian. When I realized my singing was mediocre at best, I couldn’t memorize a simple poem for a class assignment, and I was horrible at math and science, my dreams were crushed.
Then came college. I attended East Carolina University. I promised my parents that I would not take on a job and instead focus on my studies. Being unemployed, however, was not an option for me. I was going crazy without a job. But I found the perfect compromise. I would write feature articles for the school newspaper. It wasn’t very time consuming, and since I was good at writing term papers,
