Davis Frustrated About Owens Catch that Put the Game Away
Vontae Davis seemed to not be so happy about the catch by Terrell Owens that put the Fins away in Buffalo: Terrell Owens 51-yard touchdown catch put the game away for the Bills on Sunday. It also left the man covering him, rookie cornerback Vontae Davis in a whiny mood about an alleged push off by Owens that Davis felt should have been called. Davis told the Palm Beach Post that Owens received special treatment from the officials and that the Dolphins were not only playing against the Bills, but the refs as well. “There was nothing else I could do about that,” D
Bills Explode For 24 Points Late, Blast Dolphins 31-14
Offense finally paid a visit to Ralph Wilson Stadium Sunday as the Miami Dolphins visited the Buffalo Bills. As of late, the Bills have began to pick up their offense, with the help of wide receiver Terrell Owens. Sunday afternoon wouldn’t be much different as Owens’ touchdown reception with 2:23 left in the game allowed Buffalo to make short work of Miami with an easy 31-14 win. The first quarter was a battle of attrition as neither team scored in the first 15 minutes. The Dolphins would draw firs
Dolphins Sign DE Baker; Cut Safety Oglesby
The Palm Beach Post reports that the Fins have inked DE Ryan Baker from the practice squad, cutting safety Evan Oglesby: The Dolphins signed defensive end Ryan Baker from the practice squad and waived safety Evan Oglesby. Baker, an undrafted free agent rookie from Purdue, was signed May 1, released Sept. 5 and was signed to the practice squad, where he has stayed all season. Baker was a captain his senior year and was credited with 88 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and eight sacks.
Starting Center Grove Out with Ankle Injury
Starting center Jake Grove will miss Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills with an ankle injury. Joe Berger will replace Grove. Berger will be making his first NFL start in his fifth season in the league and third with the Dolphins. He appeared in three games as a rookie for Miami in 2005 after he was claimed off waivers from the team that drafted him in the seventh round, the Carolina Panthers. Second-year defensive end Lionel Dotson (ankle) is also out for the game and the Dolphins signed rookie defensive end Ryan Baker from the practice squad. To make room for Baker on the 53-man roster, defensive end Evan Oglesby was waived.
Brown To Undergo Surgery Friday
Although the recovery time hasn’t been established as of yet, one thing is for certain: Miami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown has opted to undergo surgery to repair a Lisfranc fracture in his right foot, according to a pair of sources; the procedure will take place on Friday (today). As previously mentioned, the recovery time is unclear; however, it is believed that he should be ready to go well before next season.
