| Description: | I wanted to inform you that after several weeks of pondering ideas, I decided to re-launch dotcollective.com as a directory and community for Orthodox Christian Artists. I have had this vision for a on line community of artists since 1998 when my previous church put on an art show. I saw how wonderfully talented many of my fellow church goers were and that they never showed them to their community. Often we never see how gifted our fellow parishioners at our Orthodox Churches are. I am reminded about not hiding your talents but to express them from Matthew 25:14-29. I posted the scripture on the home page to remind myself not to hold my talents back and to share with others. DotCollective.com was previously used as a domain reseller registration and hosting site. It didn't quite make it after the dot com bust and had several rebirths that did not amount to anything. I realized that what I wanted to make was for selfish reasons and the domains that were registered on the site were not wholesome to my soul and often left me awake at night wondering what I was doing. I let my domain reseller registration license expire and transferred the whole thing to another reseller, I then sat on the name for about 5 years now. I only used it for experimentation. DotCollective.com redeemed itself and was used to demonstrate our future church website and what it would look like before we got a domain of our own. I still wanted to use DotCollective.com as an outreach on its own and kept renewing the name until I realized that our community needs a directory and place where Orthodox Christian Artists can meet and display a virtual gallery etc. Submitting a listing is pretty simple. First you will click on the link that says "Artist Directory" Then click on "Add Entry" And fill in the blanks. You may want to register before doing this, so that you can update your listing. You do have the ability to upload pictures, music, etc. Registering also allows you to use the Forum and submit a Blog if you want. Why am I doing this and why is it free with no pop-ups or advertising? I want to give back to you a gift from my heart in thanks for praying for me when I was in the hospital and others for teaching me so much by sharing with me this past year. It is OK to donate but it is not compulsory. If you have any questions or something glitches, please let me know and I will have it taken care of. Thank you for your time and understanding.
