Why can’t we make this any more?
Today I decided to finally hang a few more pictures around the house.  I had been trouble by a picture of my late mom, which I hung underneath a picture of my dad.  Both had matching redwood frames.  Apparently mom didn’t like being “beneath” dad as the screws and nails on her picture kept breaking and the picture would fall to the floor.While puttering in my late father-in-law’s well-equipped shop in the 1970’s I had borrowed an amazing tool.  It was called a “Yankee” Push Drill and it was made in New Brtain, CT by Stanley Tools.  Since my father-in-law made his living with his tools he had a commercial model, which in 1974 cost him $29.95

Update - Student Protests at UC Davis - a win?
It appears the Yolo County District Attorney will not charge any of the 52 students arrested at the student protests over the last two weeks. The protests were well-documented in embarrassing detail -- that is embarrassing for the Campus Police and Administration. While there were the usual cell-phone cam shots through Twitter, the best video of all was from the UCD's own TV station, AggieTv. They were nearby filming a broadcast piece when the occupation of Mrak Hall began.
