Teemu Selanne scored two power play goals and Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 28 saves as the Ducks defeated Chicago, 3-0, on Friday afternoon at Honda Center.
The Ducks went three for five on the power play and snapped Chicago’s eight-game winning streak, which was one shy of the Blackhawks’ franchise record.
Giguere recorded his 32nd career shutout and first since Nov.4, 2008.
Selanne scored off Corey Perry’s cross-ice pass in front for a power play goal with 42 seconds remaining in the first period.

Can Ducks, or anybody, stop Chicago?
The Chicago Tribune details the Blackhawks’ devastating 7-2 victory at San Jose Wednesday, the one that featured three shorthanded goals, and speculates that the young Hawks might be the NHL’s best. There isn’t much evidence to the contrary, but perhaps the Ducks can provide some today.

Ducks’ top line gets another test
No one is declaring a complete turnaround for the Ducks just yet.
Their victory Wednesday still left them 14th in the Western Conference standings, and their struggles to close out games have been evident the past two games.
But they have begun to form a semblance of an identity on what is supposed to be a make-or-break homestand. Their forward lines have had continuity, and goaltending has anchored the defense.
So is this a good time to play perhaps the hottest team in the NHL?
