2010 Fantasy Baseball Slow Mock
Thank you to all that have already signed up for the 2010 Fantasy Baseball slow mock draft.  However, there are still three more slots available.  If you are available by e-mail over the next few months, and want to prepare for 2010, send an e-mail directly to me.  I have done several of these and they are the best way to prepare for the upcoming season.  Sure you need to practice the regular draft style later in the off-season, but being able to take you time between picks will allow you to do in-depth player research during the draft.  What better way to get your bearings for the upcoming season?  I won’t lie to you, these take a fair amount of time to complete, but it wort
Two Recent Signings
Over the past week, two players have signed with American League teams.  Well there was a third, but I really do not think Omar Vizquel will have any impact in 2010 Fantasy Baseball leagues.  Here are some quick thoughts regarding the recent signings of Andruw Jones and Alex Gonzalez. Andruw Jones: Jones was a fantasy superstar just a few years ago, but what happened over the past few seasons cannot be ignored. Now that he has signed with the White Sox, and the small home ballpark, some owners may begin to over-value him.  Sure there is still power left in his bat, but you still need to make contact in order to hit a baseball out of the park. a 72.2 contact
AFL Wrap Week 6: Comparing 2009 and 2008
The final week of the season was another shortened one as players were given plenty of time to pack up and make it home for Thanksgiving. Compared to last year the AFL’s offensive numbers seemed to dip, although we were treated to a 24-15 barn-burner on November 17. Likewise, there were not as many standout individual performances as in 2008. Some telling comparisons: </p> Hitting Highlights Ike Davis (NYM – 1B) had two hits in each of his three games. His AFL slash line was a healthy .341/.394/.565 Reese Havens (NYM – SS) played sparingly, but finished on a seve
2010 Slow Mock Draft
I know this seems a bit early, but it is time to start organizing the 2010 Fantasy Baseball slow mock draft.  I am looking for 13 volunteers to participate.  There is only one requirement… availability.  Slow mocks tend to take a decent amount of time to complete, and so being available via e-mail for several weeks is required. Please e-mail the winabango address if you are interested, or have any questions.
Hot Stove Time
It is that time of year once again.  If you are a rumor junky, the only time period that tops this is the trade deadline action.  I know I watch over all the transactions during the off-season. It certainly fuels my excitement for the upcoming season.  What would baseball be without all the speculation? From a Fantasy Baseball perspective, I am closing watching a couple of situations.  In my original keeper league, I own Matt Holliday and Adrian Gonzalez.  Where they end up will determine who I keep.  I know that you might think that I should keep both players, but I already have Lincecum, Utley, Teixeira, and Kemp as probable keepers.  In addition I have Greinke as an addi
