Marathon Week Challenge: We be runnin’ y’all!!
Once upon a time, I challenged myself to walk/jog/run 15 miles in a week.  I did it. Mission Accomplished.  Woot, woot, bla, bla, bla… Anyway…since then I have kind of caught the running bug, to the point where I am going to sign up for the Baltimore Marathon next October.  I would have signed up already, but registration doesn’t open until December 13th..D’oh!
Status Report: Week 7
Progress Report: Week 7 Weight: 247.6 lbs BMI: 35.5 Weight loss so far: 2.2 lbs since last week, 17.4 lbs to date (in my best Eric Cartman voice) Sssscccchhhhwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttt! YAY! This week had alot of bits of awesome, but, admittedly, there are many things could have gone alot better. The good: RUNNING!  Not only have I gotten my mile down to 9 minutes and 22 seconds, as of last night, but I’m running longer and faster than I thought possible.  Examples of that include one 20 minute stretch of 5.5mph and a 5 minute stretch at 7.0mph.  WooT!  I think that now I am getting used to/and liking running I’
I was RUNNIN’!
A few weeks ago, I started using the treadmill.  I wanted a change of pace and I needed to switch up my cardio a bit from the ARC Trainer.  I won’t lie, it sucked, but I stuck with it… …this past week, I completed 15 miles on it… …yesterday, I completed a mile in 10:13 minutes, which was a personal BEST… …until today…

I don’t know whether or not it’s the endorphins or the worn out body that lets me feel as if I’ve accomplished something but today I feel pretty good. Granted, I’m still exhausted. My back is a little stiff this morning but I’m not feeling anything that would be considered incapacitating. Want to recap what I did with me? Of course you do! Let’s go! Continued @ www.RonBarker.ca
The Interview, The Gym, and Anxietyland
Monday was the big day. Without revealing TOO much about the company, it’s one of Canada’s larger companies that just made a few billion dollars last quarter despite it being a very crappy economy. Yeah… billions. With a B. The position itself is an 18 month internship which will have me performing at all levels at the company with the final 9 months being specialized within the supply chain side of things. The interview itself went fairly well, I think. The person I interviewed for was very friendly and seemed easy enough to talk to which is something I don’t normally get in interviews. I’ve got personality and trying to tone that down for the stiff
