FOR LOVE OF WATER
Every morning, the first thing I do after I wake up is use the bathroom. After I’m done relieving myself, I flush the toilet. I then walk to the sink and wash my hands. Then I walk to the kitchen to get a drink of water. After I fill my cup from our sink and drink the water, I keep the water running as I prepare my toothbrush. After I put the toothpaste on, I run it under the water for a half of second (I don’t even know why I do that. I was just told I’m supposed to). While the water is running, I brush my teeth. ALBINISM IN AFRICA
If we intentionally open our eyes to some of the world’s worst injustices, it won’t take long for us to have our hearts moved. I hate hearing of stories that I feel like a can do nothing about. That is exactly how I felt when I watched a special on T.V. about albinism in Africa. There is a small population of Africans who are albino. But within a couple of years, there body parts and organs have become a top item in the black market. Local witchdoctors have started to use albino organs and body parts in potions and it’s a growing crisis in a few countries. I figured the least I can do is try and bring awareness to people about this issue, and maybe some people will be moved
