BE PRESENT?
We are often invited by spiritual teachings to “be present.” There is nothing wrong with that pointer. In fact, it might be the first injunction you hear that really points to the fact that you are not a time-bound story. You are presence itself. This can be just the right invitation that needs to be heard.
But it can also be misheard. Is “the now” a point in time? When you are invited to “be present,” is that an invitation to pay attention only to what is happening now and to see life as occurring along a continuum from past, to present, to future. From this point of view, it looks like you are trying to take a snapshot
The Butterfly Circus
What a triumph! The Butterfly Circus is a simple yet profound story of hope for any age, artfully executed, believably conveyed, lifting expectations beyond themselves. Fast forward to today and the message is the same – the greater the struggle, the greater the triumph! WE are our own worst enemies — and perception is NOT reality! God bless Joshua, Eduardo, Nick and the entire company. What’s next? Waiting . . . none too patiently, I might add, but definitely, absolutely hopefully.

The Mirror of Relationship
I cannot exist by myself. I exist only in relationship to people, things, and ideas.
Relationship is the mirror in which we see ourselves as we are. All life is a movement in
relationship . . . . In that relationship which is the mirror in which we can see ourselves,
we can discover what we are, our reactions, our prejudices, our fears, depression,
anxieties, loneliness, sorrow, pain, grief. We can also discover whether we love or
[whether] there is no such thing as love. –Jiddu Krishnamurti
In Living Realization, we do not say that nothing exists. We say that no thing exists
separately. Things exist as separate things
Awakening
“Often is heard the idea that in order to awaken, one must stop thinking altogether”
The cessation of thought cannot cause Awakening because there is no separate thinker, as the course suggests. The above is a pointer often given by those through whom Awakening has occurred. It means to say the condition of Awakening results in the cessation of thinking. All pointers are descriptive rather than prescriptive because the realization of Awakening is that there was never a person to do such a thing as think or stop thinking. So rather than saying stopping the thinking causes Awakening, we can say in Awakening, there is the ending of thinking.
