Description: I'm 28 years old and my home base is Vancouver, BC. I got engaged at 26 and spent a year planning my wedding, but then my fiance and I split up before tying the knot. A month later, I got laid off, and decided that my newly single and unemployed state was the perfect excuse for a trip abroad. I spent three months travelling solo through Europe and figuring out what I wanted to do when I got home. Now back home in Vancouver, I'm building the life I want for myself from the ground up.

The End of an Era
I've been hinting away for a few weeks now, both on this blog and on Twitter, and the time has finally come to bid my adieu to Blogger. You'll also notice that I have changed my name on Twitter to @alittlecoffee.I do hope you will visit my new blog, update your blogroll links if you have been kind enough to link to me, and update my feed in your feedreader. How to Paint An Entire Apartment in One Day
We left off, I believe, with some "before" shots of my new apartment, and also my new hair (which seems to flip under on one side and flip out on the other side, GRRRRR. And the answer is:
Makeover
I have had essentially the same hairstyle, barring the growing out of my bangs while wedding planning, for the last 7 or so years. I've thought of switching it up every now and again, but my hairstylist always tells me that long hair with bangs is the most flattering style for my face shape and I should just stick with what works. And I have, until yesterday.I'm not sure quite what changed. Two weeks ago when I booked my haircut, I was fully intending on just getting a trim and having her tidy up the bangs, as per usual. But a couple of days ago I started thinking that I want something a bit sleeker and more... I don't know... grown up?By the time my appointment roll
Moving House
Whew, has it ever been a busy couple of weeks! I have finally moved into my very own apartment. I hope to be back to blogging more regularly now, although I can't really promise anything. I don't have the Internet hooked up yet, and I'm currently able to blog only because I am borrowing Marty's Internet USB stick temporarily. I am still surrounded by a number of boxes and have only half unpacked my suitcases, so there is still lots to be done. But I'm taking the night off tonight because I needed a break. Besides, the place is already starting to look like someone actually lives here, so the
My Tweet Mosaic from Portwiture
For those of you who use Twitter, Portwiture is a really neat piece of software that pulls the most commonly used words from your recent tweets, matches those words with photos from Flickr, and turns those photos into an art mosaic. I LOVE this! Here is the art mosaic for this morning from my Twitter stream:
