I write passionately about Jesus Christ and seeing Him in the pages of Scripture and the moments of my everyday life as a wife and mother. "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine, but a broken spirit drieth the bones" (Proverbs 17:22). |

What’s Cookin’!
I love this interactive map I found on NY Times.com. You can scroll through the most searched recipes (allrecipes.com) from the day before Thanksgiving to see what people are cooking most today for Thanksgiving dinner. It’s probably too late for most of us, but the map even has links for the top hit recipes under each dish name on the map.
Apparently we like some broccoli casserole more than anything down here in the South! And I like the fact that my all-time Thanksgiving favorite, peanut butter pie, made it on the list. I hope to eat some to
Six Years Old
I remember one evening I was standing in my bedroom in Florida with my friend Carrie. She looked at baby Lydia and smiled. “Isn’t it incredible? She has your nose! She is the first blood relative you have ever met on earth.” Wow… I can close my eyes and still take in that moment. The Father’s love for me as I looked at her overwhelmed me with joy!
Lydia Kate. The sound of her name brings me joy and laughter and brings me to my knees in prayer. I cannot believe six years have come and gone and stand in awe of God’s goodness in her life. To Him be praised and may her life be a journey to know Him and spread His love to others!
Footed PJs
Just last night after I put the kids to bed I thought to myself, “Man! I’m freezing. Where are the footed pajamas for moms?!” I envied my children as I zipped all of them up in their full coverage of fleece especially since I hadn’t even figured out where I’d last seen my winter pj pants.

Tomato Soup and a Grilled Cheese Sandwich
In June
My jogging legs beg for a park bench
And Summer Salad
Crisp,
Market Fresh,
Lemon and kale,
Avocados pressed into my fork.
And the energy is green.
August wanes,
And September breezes blow across the Atlantic
I’m ripe for crusty bread,
Satisfied with basil and cheese,
Half a bottle of cream soda.
But today it is raining
Steady,
Melodic,
In Gray October –
The Charleston humidity wrestling Autumn
To me it fits.
40 watts,
Layered cotton,
That good book,
Tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich.
Not enough data.
