The Great Wreath Debate
The "Great Wreath Debate" started our very first Christmas as a married couple. I reeeealllly wanted a nice cranberry wreath to hang on the door. The hub's only request was "no cranberries," which left me with a bit of a dilemma. Since then, our door has been naked during the holidays. But, I spotted a compromise when I saw this stunning tutorial last year and I knew I wanted to give it a try. I've been pretty on top of my holiday crafting this year and am just thrilled to have it done this early.

Boston Cream Pie
My dad is a big fan of Boston Cream donuts...like a really big fan.When Nate & I were living in Kalamazoo, we would make a special trip to our favorite donut shop to pick up a half dozen of them just for him. Since moving back to Illinois, that is one of the places that we truly miss.Let me tell you, Dunkin' Donuts just doesn't stack up.Anyway, our family is celebrating some exciting job news for my dad and I wanted to whip up something special for the occasion. In an effort to re-create his favorite Kalamazoo delicacy, I make him a Boston cream pie.

Silhouette Plate (take two)
So, I broke down and decided to attempt further detailing the silhouette plate. I hadn't sealed it yet, so I added the name and date. Let me tell you, working with the smaller, more confined lines was way time-consuming and on the verge of maddening in comparison to the silhouette itself, which was pretty easy. Patience is a virtue, my friends, and not always my best one.
