Athens Mayor appeals to Pak embassy over Greek aid worker
Athens Mayor Nikitas Kaklamanis has written to the Pakistani Embassy in Athens to protest the abduction of Professor Athanasios Lerounis, who had been working as a volunteer teacher for a humanitarian organization in northwestern Pakistan since 1995 and had founded two primary schools, three day centers and a cultural center there. Lerounis was kidnapped on Tuesday from his home in the Chitral Valley along with a servant. A guard was reportedly killed in the raid.
Pakistan rejects Indian protest on Gilgit-Baltistan, Bunji dam
ISLAMABAD: The Deputy High Commissioner of Indiain Islamabad was called to the Foreign Office on Friday and Indian protest on Gilgit-Baltistan self-rule order was rejected.
The Foreign Office Director General (South Asia) emphasized that Pakistan rejects the Indian protest as the Government of India has no locus standi in the matter.
A press release issued by the Foreign Office stated that the Government of Pakistan also rejects the Indian claim that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. “Pakistan’s position on Jammu and Kashmir dispute is based on relevant UN resolutions.”

Kidnapped Greek national yet to recover
CHITRAL: Search operation for the recovery of kidnapped Greek national is underway in Chitral, however, no development has been made so far.
According to local sources, the Greek national identified as Athunasius, kidnapped from his residence in Kalash valley after killing his guard early on Tuesday morning has been taken to Nooristan area of Afghanistan. Police launched search operation in different areas to recover Athunasius.
Mr Athunasius has been living in the valley for 15 years and working on a project for development of the Kalash community. He worked for the construction of a three-storey building to preserve and promote the unique culture of area.
