The Manifest Sons of God controversy
A recent commenter raised the issue of the “evils” of the “manifest sons of God” doctrine, so I thought I’d post on the subject and open it up to discussion [warning: this is not by any means a short post].
The short version of it all is, “Most of what’s said by the heresy hunters is either outright fabrication, deliberate twisting of facts, or the obfuscation of Biblical truth. Their goal seems to be to subvert the church and turn Her from Her destiny and purpose in the Lord.”
I’m often accused of being “latter rain”, “river”, “manifest sons
Beware!
“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.”
This is a strong warning, church – are you allowing the thief to steal from you? The opposite of empty deceit is the fullness of the Godhead bodily. That fullness of Christ is alive in you if you have been born again.
Are you living in the fullness of Christ? Are you living complete in Him? Man’s tradition says that God is no more powe
A morning in the life..
So I woke up this morning and opened the fridge to get the milk.
Trapper immediately and insistently demanded that I allow him to make acquaintance with the large bird who has taken up residence in the fridge. He was MOST disappointed when I told him that the bird is sleeping and can’t be disturbed. He was even more disappointed when I put him outside and told him to spend the day playing football with squirrels.
Then Lucy sat down on the floor next to me, looking rather forlorn.
Me: “Lucy! Did you lose your brains?”
Lucy: ::face looks sad, tail wags hopefully::
Me: “Look! There they are! Under the
What is Holiness?
A friend called my attention to a thread about what adultery is (and isn’t) in a Christian forum. I found it interesting that people droned on regarding the subject for 11+ pages and came to no real consensus. There are many opinions regarding adultery.
One person quoted Jesus and said, “If you look at someone lustfully…you’ve committed the sin.”
Another person said, “Adultery is sex. If there’s no sex, there’s no adultery.”
Yet another said, “Suppose spanking occurred…but no sex… that would not be adultery.”
WHAT?
As I pondered this, the Holy Spirit reminded
Gluten Intolerance as prophetic symbol
So I’m really coming to grips with the fact that I am gluten intolerant. Might have celiac disease. (Don’t know, and at the moment, don’t really care.)
When I was in the process of sorting this out, back a few months ago, Pastor Mike said something interesting mid-sermon. He was talking about our need to be very careful what we put into ourselves. We can become defiled by the things we see and hear – and so much moreso if we choose to see and hear them. If you want life to work properly, be careful what you put into it!
Up until then, I was thinking that I needed to pray for healing from this thing with gluten. But then… I had an AHA! moment.
